A star is born
Meaghan Rath is a lead actress on the TV show 15 Love and she was recently nominated for a Gemini award for Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series. 15 Love is a teen drama about young tennis hopefuls during their time at a sports academy. The show has also been nominated for two other Geminis - Best Director and Best TV show in the Children’s or Youth Program or Series category. Last year it won a Gemini award for Best writing in a Youth series. Meaghan has filmed 55 episodes and the TV series is now shown in 76 countries.

Jesse Rath, a recent graduate of Loyola High School, also received some good news this summer. A film he wrote, directed and produced in Grade 11, On the Other Side of the Mirror has won the Canada wide Hot Shots Film Festival Competition for High School students in Calgary, for Best Short Film. His film has been selected to air at the International Film Festival in Edmonton and is scheduled to premiere there this October.
